TO COPY

"Award for Copiar as Best Immersive Show, FETEN 2025"

Copying has a bad reputation. The idea surrounding this act is pejorative, associated with a lack of originality, of individual ideas, and therefore, of personality. And yet it is surprising, because in reality, as social beings, from the moment we are born until we die, we are always copying. We copy how others speak, how they move, how they express themselves, how they dress, what opinions they hold… In fact, copying is completely natural. We all copy one another, and thanks to this, we connect, we learn and we help others learn, and thus, society evolves.

"To copy" is a performance that invites a group of children aged 8 to 10 onto the stage. This group has had no rehearsal or preparation before entering. Together with Animal Religion, they move through a playful, emotional, and eclectic performance where the only guide is copying. From a copy, an original is also born.
